Dehydration is the most common cause of headaches - that's why you can't give blood if you have a headache, but the second-most common cause of headaches in muscle tightness.
We tend not to think of our heads as having muscles, but the muscles of our jaw and the muscles which attach our heads to our shoulders can become extremely tight, especially when we're undergoing physical, emotional, or chemical stress.
Physical stress like exercise, or poor posture at work; chemical stress like drinking too much coffee, or getting a hangover; and emotional stress are common in modern life, so next time you get a headache, drink a glass of water and try these stretches:
